After years of being part of award-winning campaigns for clients and agencies, I’ve been nominated for a CIPR Excellence Award myself as an Outstanding Independent Practitioner and I’m absolutely thrilled about it!
The CIPR Excellence Awards are considered the PR industry’s most established celebration of creativity and professionalism, and recognise talent from all corners of the country, so to be considered amongst the very best in the UK is an enormous accolade.
All shortlisted entrants go up in front of the judging panel so I will get the opportunity to discuss those areas of my work of which I’m most, such as; tutoring with Cambridge Marketing College and Lincoln University, chatting on Star Radio and Siren FM, and the utterly fabulous campaign for the world first art exhibition Size Matters.
As the Chairs of Judges Paul Mylrea Found.Chart.PR FCIPR and Sandra Macleod FCIPR, put it:
“Being praised by friends and clients is pleasant but the praise that really counts is from your peers.
That’s why the CIPR Excellence Awards have become the way to demonstrate best practice, to showcase best work, and to set the path for other PR practitioners to follow.
Winning is not all. Taking part and getting shortlisted is a huge achievement, especially as the standard is rising year on year.”
So, if you could cross your fingers for me I’d really appreciate it and I’ll let you know how I get on….oh, and of course I’ll be buying a new dress for the prestigious awards ceremony in June!
